I got notice from Turbo Tax that my CA return was rejected. The note said that this was due to an error in the software. It also said that when I reopened the return the problem would be noted. That didn't happen. In fact the program didn't do anything special and didn't seem to note that I'd filed my Federal and it had been accepted. What's going on?
I had the exact same experience. CA return rejected b/c of error in TT software. The links and instructions that TT then provided were useless!
No guidance - opening the return and stepping thru leads to "Good news!" We've checked for missing info & it's 100% accurate?? There are no details about what is causing the problem?
Same boat here; I actually clicked fix my return, and the software did nothing just saying everything looks good; and later about 30min, it got rejected again
They said they pushed the fix today and web services should update automatically but every time I fix the state filing it’ll get rejected instantly. It says Your California return could not be processed electronically due to missing information on Form 3849 Premium Assistance Subsidy. I have the form filled out when I view the document.
Hi Random Guy, was this addressed to me specifically? divan
I received an email from TT stating my return was rejected due to an error in their software and that when I open my return, I will receive details about the error causing the issue. Nope. There were no details and I checked my return and it said my return was 100% accurate. What the heck, TT? Anyone find out what/why this is happening?
Hi Random Guy, was your message addressing my situation specifically or was it addressing others in the group? Thank you, DVANB
Is the fix possibly not implemented as of 4:54? Does the system need an over nite refresh??
I received the same message. I see a trend here; turbotax needs to provide a remedy soon.
TT - I don't want to earn any badges - I want to be done with my taxes.......
That’s for everyone as far as I know, not just for 3849s but apparently they didn’t have the official form till the updates get pushed. I’ll try my luck again tomorrow before calling TT.
I didn’t receive an error message per say. It was rejected initially. After I went through each form manually, I noticed that I did not select the county that I live in, from the drop down menu. I believe it's on the residency page. That fixed everything for me. Goodluck!
My CA state tax was rejected twice. The federal tax was accepted after 1 rejection. Will the state still reject my return constantly or will it realize that the federal return was accepted. How do you get to call someone at TurboTax?
Same problem here. When I first opened Turbotax I was instructed to fix my Federal Deductions and a bunch of other steps which I could never see again. GRRR.
I just got off the phone with TT at 800-624-9066. The TT rep. said their CA forms were not up to date and it was an error on their side (not mine). I screen shared my screen with the TT rep and successfully re-filed my state CA return. Hope this helps.
@ BLR9, They said the error was on their end and it would not show up, even though their notification said it would, when you open your return. I'd suggest calling them, speaking to a live agent and make them walk you through re-filing your return. I just got a text stating my CA return was accepted. Good luck!
Okay, I am not the only one then. Every time I try to file, I have to fill out the credit card info for filing fee. I already paid!!
I finally managed to have the CA taxes accepted. It took several submissions. Looks like the problem was with TT Ca state software not being up to date. On the the third try TT updated the state forms and when submitted it was accepted, thankfully. Glad that stress has been removed.
When I resubmitted my California return I was charged an additional $20. What did I miss in the instructions for resubmitting the return?
I just got through to customer service (very frustrating but finally got a person) MY problem was that it seems there's an error within the turbo tax spreadsheet itself and the formula for one of the fields was wrong, so the addition was wrong. The agent helped me manually override and FIX that number. Hopefully, that will allow the return to go through. If not, I'll print it and mail it in now that I know it's correct for sure.
