Print 1099-NEC for subcontractor

I have entered 1099-NEC information for about 50 subcontractors. I went to print but they are all 1-up and my copy B and C forms are all 3 up.

Can I simply print on plain paper and hand-deliver or mail them? No special form required??

The problem is I need to mail most of them and I don't have envelopes that fit the printout.

I plan to e-file to the IRS, but not sure how to get to my subs.

If you e-filed forms 1099-NEC, then it is not necessary to file or efile form 1096.

You do not need to print forms 1099-NEC and form 1096 to mail them to the IRS.

You only need to print out forms 1099-NEC to mail them to your contractors.

You can print the 1099-NEC forms for the contractors on plain paper. As long as all the required information and box numbers are displayed you will be fine. You need to either e-file the forms to the Social Security Administration or mail in the original red colored forms, however, for the transmittal of the government copies.

Yes that is a hassle.  The forms have never fit in window envelopes.

In the Windows Home & Business program if you do them on your computer and don't use Quick Employer Forms, copy A for the Internal Revenue Service now prints 3 people per page on Copy A.   So if you have 4 people it will print 1 on one page and 3 on another page.

Copies B, C, and 1:
…….(Copy B for the recipient);
…….(Copy C for your records); and on the same page
…….(Copy 1 for the state tax department, if required).

Include all pages of Copy A with Form 1096 (do not staple), sign Form 1096,

IMPORTANT: Do not cut or separate Forms 1096 or 1099-MISC Copy A, even if a form is blank.

I found some envelopes on Amazon that are really for 1099-Misc forms. They look like they will work. I'll find out in a few days.

TT prints 1 recipient per page, not 3 up like I thought.

I e-filed the 1099-NEC's, but does that send the 1096 e-filed along with it too? Or do I need to actually print out the 1096 on the IRS form and mail it in with copies of the 1099's?

@CrazyKZ   Form 1096 and W-3 are not required for e-file.  Quick Employer Forms only supports e-file with the SSA and IRS.  Please do not send any of these forms to the IRS, as this will generate duplicate filings. These forms are simply for your records. See all the FAQs here,

Update: The 1099-MISC envelopes fit perfectly for the 1099-NEC forms to mail to subcontractors. 🙂

I cannot print my 1099 NEC e-filed forms to send to the contractors. Why not? I can see that the E-files have been accepted.
