Obtain prior years CDs

I recently moved and in the process misplaced or lost CDs for 2015 and 2016 Federal and California.  Can I obtain copies?

Did you uninstall the programs or have a computer crash, or switched to a new computer?

If you are an Advantage member (annual subscription), even if you ordered CDs, you should have download files in your account already at this link:
https://shop.turbotax.intuit.com/commerce/account/secure/login.jsp?pagecontext=download

If you are not an Advantage member and lost your CD's,  you can phone TurboTax Support during business hours and ask for download files.

Use the form at the link below to be assigned a phone number or schedule a callback. The number will not display when they are closed.  This time of year they are open 5AM-5PM Pacific (8AM-8PM Eastern) Mon-Fri.

Didn't you install them on your computer?

Yes, but my computer was hacked by a ransom virus 4 weeks ago and was shut down.  I had to purchase a new computer and have not been able to restore the two programs.

You don't have to pay again. See my answer below.

What happens after you filled out the form using the link I provided?  After providing your contact info on the next screen, it should either provide a phone number or allow you to schedule a callback.  Here are the steps:

Select  that you are using "CD/download for Windows" (unless you need it for MAC), and also select the Edition.
Then on the issue line write "lost CD and need download" (without quotes).
On the next page, if it offers any suggested articles, just skip those and scroll down and enter your name, phone, and email address.     There is also a box there for you to enter more details, if you need it.  Then click the blue "Get Phone Number" button.

Did you have the license keys to activate the downloads once you got them?  Or did you have to buy a new license?  Curious as I'm facing a similar situation.  Thanks!

This year's 2019 desktop software is the first year that a license code has been required for USA TurboTax software.

This is an old thread that is at least a year old, possibly longer, that transferred into this new community forum last June from the old AnswerXChange.   Unfortunately, all the old threads were given a new date as of the transfer in June instead of keeping their original dates.

I ended up buying a used CD from eBay since Intuit could not recognize the fact that I had registered my original purchase with them when I used it to file my original return.  Complete BS given their business is collecting and selling data about us.
