No Tax Return Filed

Hey guys,

I've filed and was accepted on 1/25/2023 and I've updated last week to "No tax return filed" and I still had the Single filing status as well when I filed HOH with a dependent this year and has the same address from last year in which I updated on this year's return, also a week later, which is today, it didn't update nor did the WMR since last week when it said "Your tax return is still being processed" with the 152 Tax code gone.

Any help please? Do I need to verify again this year or something?

Let's start with the easiest thing to do. Ask for a call from our customer service and get your DCN. This is the declaration control number the IRS uses to find your return in their system. Then, call the IRS and ask them to look into your issue.

Use What is the Turbo Tax phone number? and then the IRS is 800-829-1040.

Topic 152 means you are getting a refund. That message leaves when you are being switched over to the deposit department and they upload the date. Usually, that happens at the same time. You may not have made it to that department for some reason.

I've contacted the IRS today and I was told that they have to wait til February 15th for to check to see what's going on.

But do I need to verify again this tax season? What I need a declaration control number for?

A declaration control number is a number the IRS computer assigns to a tax return when it is accepted.

It can be used to "find" a return. It is similar to a "confirmation number" you might get when you make an online payment.

The 15th would be three weeks since you filed, so your return might now still be in the processing stage.

But, if I had a change in dependents, filing status, new address, will I have to verify?

If you had changes in your dependents or filing status it may need to be verified only if the IRS requests it. If they want verification they will send a letter.

I called today and was told a letter was sent a week ago (02/09) for identity verification, letter 4883c, in which I haven't gotten yet at all.
