No option for refund advance when i checkout

I have been a turbo tax customer for 10 plus years. I got the advance 2 times and still use my CK account.... I was even sent an email saying get ur refund advance when u start your taxes today..  so I did and no option for the advance. Anyone else have these same issues. I'm so confused.

We do not know how TurboTax determines who is offered the refund advance.  Perhaps something has changed with your credit score or income since you were last offered the refund advance.  Perhas they have changed their requirements.  But that is just speculation and we cannot give you a definite reason for not being offered that option.

As mentioned in my post turbo tax emailed me and said I CAN apply for the advance again... but there is no button to apply.....I use my CK account almost as a primary account. My credit score is better this year than last.

Also I made more this year than last.. almost 15k more ... and I'm not above the dollar amount to not qualify. This I feel.is a turbo tax glitch!

Same exact thing just happened to me! I am about to cry that's the only reason I went with turbo tax was to get the early refund advance jackson hewitt was going to give me one but I just wanted to go ahead and get it all done.

Once again we do not know what the requirements are to qualify and do not know why you were not offered an advance.  All we can do is guess.

this is also happening to me! I've gotten it every year for the last 4 years and nothing has changed so its extremely annoying.

Same thing I’ve been a customer. It’s the fact that the option isn’t even there. It’s one thing to be denied but I can’t even apply to get denied. I’ve cleared my whole return and started over that don’t work I’ve logged out of everything I can think of and started from scratch that didn’t work. I could’ve really used the advance seems like I’m going to have to go somewhere else this year

I called today and was on the phone quite a while. They said the option should show up after the irs starts accepting returns. I told them it’s never been like that in the past but they insisted so I’ll wait til the 27th and try again. I also started over and tried it a bunch before I finally called. I hope they are right.

All you can do is guess? That’s not good enough. 1000s of Returning customers of years have been affected. Also the option should be available to see if we met the requirements. If it’s not an option how do we know? There’s obviously something going on with it since it’s not offering all the refund options. So your answer is not appropriate. You should stop repeating yourself. You haven’t been helpful. At all.

I was finally able to chose the refund options.
I just kept going back and forth and finally it showed up! Good luck

I just kept going back and forth from File to review changing stuff and trying to get it to change. Then I just kept backing out and opening it back up. I couldn’t believe it after all this hassle these last few days it finally popped up at 430am. I was on the App also.

Yeah it’s extremely frustrating. It’s working for a lot people so I don’t understand. It may be some type of glitch. For 3 days I kept trying constantly refreshing and redoing, finally I was able to chose the advance. I called them and they said to wait til irs is open but it’s definitely not that. Good luck, hope you get it!

Same here. Even if you're not eligible it should still show up. I've called and they told me once I go past that it would pop up, but it still hasn't. I think it's a glitch in their website.

I am having this same issue. I called into TurboTax and the CSE Shawn I spoke with said that in order to get the advance, I will have to wait to file on Monday the 27th when the IRS opens. They also spoke with a manager and they said the same thing.
The requirements are:

You will not be eligible for the loan if: (1) your physical address is not included on your federal tax return, (2) your physical address is located outside of the United States or a US territory, is a PO box or is a prison address, (3) your physical address is in one of the following states: IL, CT, or NC, (4) you are less than 18 years old, (5) the tax return filed is on behalf of a deceased person, (6) you are filing certain IRS Forms (1310, 4852, 4684, 4868, 1040SS, 1040PR, 1040X, 8888, or 8862), (7) your expected refund amount is less than $500, or (8) you did not receive Forms W-2 or 1099-R or you are not reporting income on Sched C. Additional requirements: You must (a) e-file your federal tax return with TurboTax and (b) currently have or open a Credit Karma Money™ Spend (checking) account.

I check all the boxes. I will be waiting until Monday but I swear if it’s the same bs I will be rethinking doing business with Turbo in the future. I hope this helps though

Samething happened to me. I checked the criteria and I qualify. However, I was not given the option to apply. I know some people recieved the option but was not allowed to apply because it kept looking them back to beginning. Base on what I have seen, alot of people are having this issue. I also read where some people create a new account and was able to apply for it.

I've been having this same issue. I've been filing through TurboTax for 10 years and used the refund advance last year. I have an active credit karma bank account as well. My credit score is higher as well as income for 2024 yesterday, I spent 4 hours on the phone with TurboTax. The representative stated its possibly a glitch and they'll investigate then contact me about it. I'm really trying to hold off before I switch tax sites

I’m having the same problem. I made over 15k more than I did last year. I wasn’t even employed for the entire year last year. Please update us if something changes for you.

This is happening to me tool. It is not giving me the option when I go to file. I tried to call yesterday and neither of the two representatives could tell me why or help correct the problem. I am able to get the advance every single year and even if I was ineligible, I should still have the option to apply. I have been using turbo tax for almost 20 years! I'm beyond irritated at this point. Someone needs to get on top of fixing this asap or they are going to lose a lot of customers. If I cant get the advance then I will file somewhere else and skip The $200 in fees

Its funny they told you this because the guy i spoke to yesterday said that shouldn't matter.

I was also not given the option.  I think it's fairly dishonest to market it and then when someone completes their filing reveal that the option is not available.
