No assistance at all

Filed with TurboTax and I'm running into similar problems as most of you are on here I am reading about. File date 18 days ago it says my state and federal taxes are accepted. However they are still not approved. Then TurboTax gives a guideline that says after 2 days they should be approved. So what does this mean? I see people on here saying they filed in February that are in a similar situation with still no updates. They need to offer some sort of hotline or service. Not to mention when you sign up for your account they solicit you into paying extra fees to get 24/7 assistance. Which I had no problem doing as I'm sure many of you didn't either. Now comes the assistant part and no one's there no phone numbers no answers the hard-working citizens of America are in need. Funny how the IRS will always reach out to you if you owe money but all of a sudden the American people are in need of their money and in need of answers and no one is nowhere to be found. God forbid you didn't answer the IRS or some type of tax agency you'd be behind bars eating crackers and bread for 2 years. Disgraceful! Please change your support methods. A lot of people on here need help I see 99.9% of the discussion board people asking where can I find someone to talk to!

Sincerely,

A Hardworking, Tax-paying,  American Citizen.

No.  The 2 days is for the IRS to Accept or Reject your efile after you submit it.  You said it was Accepted?  The IRS accepts it for processing.  Then they approve it later.

You are confusing "approved" with "accepted". The first step after a tax return is efiled is for the IRS to either accept or reject your tax return. This normally occurs within 24-48 hours. You indicated your return was accepted so that likely occurred within that time frame. TurboTax gets no information and is prohibited from inquiring about the status of your tax return once it is either accepted or rejected.

After it is accepted, the IRS then processes it before the return is approved. Sometimes the IRS needs more information or sometime it makes adjustments to the return before it is approved. That process usually occurs within 21 days from the time it is accepted. After it is approved the IRS issues a direct deposit or refund check if you are getting a refund. There are times when the IRS takes weeks or maybe even months to approve a tax return. There is nothing TurboTax or anyone else can do to change the process time.

With the IRS currently not taking phone calls, the only thing you can do to track the process is to to watch the status on the IRS tracking web site: https://www.irs.gov/refunds
