Lost information for form 4562

I sold my rental house I owned since 1981. Unfortunately I have lost all my tax records prior to 2004. How do I reconstruct information for form 4562? IRS only offers records back 10 years.

Unfortunately you cannot from the IRS.

The IRS only retains copies of tax returns for the past seven years.  And retains transcripts for the past ten years.

Thanks. I had already tried contacting the IRS. I sold the rental in 2023 so I need to recreate the info for form 4562. I have some note and vague memories of assets acquired back in the 80s and 90s. So should I just list these items based on the best of my knowledge? It is mostly appliances and flooring.
