Letter From IRS

I received a letter from the IRS requesting additional documents to my tax return.  I mailed the documents to their Ogden, UT address on August 28th, Priority Mail.  I checked USPS tracking today,  September 11th and  it is still sitting at the post office there. Should I call them or send another copy of the documents to them? Thanks.

IRS requesting additional documents to my tax return"

additional documents would imply that your tax return is incomplete

which would further imply that they have an incomplete tax return from you.

which would imply it is not sitting in the Post Office.

I sent the missing documents on August 28th to them via Priority Mail. The Priority mail includes tracking. When I checked the tracking today, it said the documents were still sitting in the Post Office. I was just wondering if I should call the IRS and explain what is happening or just resend the documents?

It costs you nothing but your time on hold to call the IRS and try to find out if they still need more information from you.

The tracking stops when the post office puts the package in the IRS bin at the post office you sent it to ... when the contents of that bin gets delivered or picked up by the IRS will not be shown ever.
