Which form notice did the IRS send ?   In the upper right corner ... CP# or LTR#?

What exactly did they ask for ?    Did they ask you to send supporting documents of the income on your return ?

LTR 12c        IRS asked for W2 0r other forms reporting wage or withholdings.

On April  5   I faxed 1099 from social security, 1099 from wife 401k, and info on interest for savings.

I did not have  a W2  and I did not withdraw from my 401k as per rule in2020

All you had to do is send the forms you used to prepare the return which is what you did ... you cannot send anything you did not have ... that form letter just lists all the things you could have had but didn't mean you had to send non existent forms.    https://www.irs.gov/individuals/understanding-your-letter-12c

Sounds like you mailed in the return but failed to attach the income statements required.

I have faxed all forms and docs for wages and income for 2020

Everything  that they requested was sent on April 5. Have not heard back from IRS and getting no help from TURBO.  It's been over 10 wks ????

This year it could take months to process a return that needed additional information sent in.

if you mailed in your return you were required to attach any forms that showed federal withholding.
