IRS Installment site down?

I filed my taxes on Tuesday and set up an installment plan with the IRS, even printed out my approval and the monthly pay date. I'm assuming it takes a few days to update to IrS Id Me. But has anyone tried to view or revise your installment plan? The site keeps showing down. It happened a couple hours after I set up my plan. I want to pay more each month if I can. My IRS account shows that I filed my taxes but doesnt show my payment arrangement. Any suggestions?

"Any suggestions?"

if you made an arrangement with the IRS, honor it.

You can always send in a larger payment if you wish ... you can even make payments online directly at www.IRS.gov/payment  anytime.

I think you missed the point of my post. I'm trying to log in to PAY more than the agreement  and I couldn't view it, and the balance shows ZERO. Thanks for the help!

Ok ... you will need to wait for the IRS to process your return for the balance due to be posted and the ability to make an extra payment is available (may be a few weeks).    Until then you can make a payment by mail ... send it with a form 1040-V ...

Ah! Perfect. I did log on this morning and I think its making progress. It showed Zero last week but the site now shows balance unavailable like they are working on it. I'm going to give it another couple days to see if it updates. Thanks!

Yes ... they just got clobbered with a few million returns at the last minute and they give priority to returns with refunds  and those with balance dues are put on the back burner.  Patience is needed as they try to catch up with aging computer systems and a personel shortage.

You're so right. Especially me being a jerk and filing at the last minute!! AHHHH

FYI ... you can file anytime before the deadline and wait to pay the balance due until the end.  If you had filed the return  in say February or March then the IRS would have been ready for the payment in April.
