I fell for the TT scam

I’m not sure why I opted to receive the refund 5 days early and give $25 to TT for the hell of it. Last year I received my refund on 2/22 which was a week or two before the IRS issue date the IRS provided. I don’t even think the system was updated and still said, “return received” or “return processing” and I still had already gotten my refund. This year, I still don’t have my refund and it’s 2/19. At this point TT is going to say they issued the refund “early” but they actually didn’t. Don’t fall for the scam and give them $25 of your hard earned money for actually doing nothing. I’m mad at myself for falling for it.

Remember that the “”5 day early” date is based on the date given to you on the IRS refund site—-not the date the TT site shows in your account.   If your refund does not come in five days ahead of the IRS date, they are supposed to cancel the $25 fee.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2024 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

Right. I’m aware.
