how do I see a previously saved return from THIS CURRENT YEAR?

I thought I had to amend my taxes after filing, but it turns out I do not. Now everything is showing an amended return. How do I ERASE that I wanted to amend and get a previously saved return?

To access your current or prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

When you sign onto your online account and land on the Tax Home web page, scroll down and click on Add a state.

This will take you back to the 2024 online tax return.  Click on Cancel Amend on the left side of the online program screen.

This should take you back to the Tax Home web page.  Now you will need to undo any changes made when you were amending the return.

Click on Add a State again.  Remove any changes to the 2024 tax return.

WHERE IS THE "TAX HOME" PAGE?   I logged in to my account and there is no obvious "Tax Home."  Therefore, I could not move on to any of the next steps.

I went to my Turbo Tax on my laptop. There is no place to do it there either.

The answer provided was for the TurboTax online editions.

If you are using the TurboTax desktop editions installed on a personal computer.  Your saved return should be available when you start the TurboTax program on your computer.  Or you can click on the File menu at the top left of the desktop program screen and then click on Open Tax Return.  Browse to the location where you save your tax returns.

Again, these steps cannot be initiated. What you say should be there simply is not visible. I do NOT WANT to amend the return. I ACCIDENTALLY saved a return when I THOUGHT it was to be amended. I want the previous return back on my laptop. I want to CANCEL the AMEND.

I believe that the answer has been on the wrong track since it was initially answered. I want to CANCEL the amendment.

First, need to know where you completed and filed the original 2024 tax return, Online or Desktop?

If Online then you would be amending the 2024 tax return using the online editions.  If you started to amend the 2024 return with the online editions and you do Not want to amend the return, then you must go back into the 2024 online account to Cancel the Amended return.

Is this what you want to do?

After a lot of wrong trails - I figured this out.

If you decide that you do NOT need to amend, but the refund/amounts due have changed to ZERO.....

Go to FORMS.

Find 1040 X

UNCHECK the box for 2024

This will reset the amounts to previous amounts.

SAVE the document.
