So if I have a Windows PC, I can download this immediately, but for Macs you make us wait 2 weeks with no published information why?  Why can't I download this right now?  Is this platform being discriminated against?

It doesn't take 2 weeks.

TT makes a special PC version that is "amend only." Since they don't make a mac amend-only version, the customer has to get a fully functional Mac program, and that can't be posted as a free download for hopefully obvious reasons.

The reason they don't make a Mac amend-only version is probably limited demand--they save enough customer support telephone time by having a PC version to make it worth programming, but they must figure that having a mac amend-only version will not save them enough on tech support representative to be worth programming.

Thank you, SweetieJean.  I appreciate the details and explanation.  It makes sense to give away free fully functional Mac programs to the select few who ask for it rather than make a new version that can be adopted year after year.  Their ROI must be based on short term expectations.  I get it.  I don't agree with it, but I'll deal with it.  I'm in their hold queue now.  I need to get this going ASAP today!

Just remember that amended returns must be filed by mail, and take about 4 months to process.
