How do I access the rejection code for an amended Federal return?

Amended Federal return was rejected 03/02/2026 and I cannot access the rejection code, how do I do this?

To see what is causing your return to be rejected and find out how to fix it:

 

  1. Sign in to your account
  2. Select the Fix my return button
    • Follow any “fix it” instructions to update the information causing the rejection.

There are also some returns that were not able to be filed due to a processing error that was corrected on March 6, 2026. If this is your case, open the rejected return, review it for errors, and resubmit the return for electronic filing.
