How can I change my state information? I made an error and cannot change it.

Would you please clarify your question? What specific error did you make?

Please follow the steps below to change your state residency:

Select the Personal Info tab
Select the blue Edit next in the same row as your name
Scroll down to question Tell us the state(s) you lived in
Select the correct State
Continue through the program

If you need to make a correction on your tax return you already file see this: How do I amend my 2020 TurboTax Online return?

Also, you will need to wait to file the amendment until the IRS has accepted your tax return. The IRS will not start processing tax returns until February 12, 2021.

Per the IRS amended returns can take up to 16 weeks to fully process. Please see this for more information from the IRS: Amended Returns & Form 1040X.

I believe the question was regarding child credit. I selected no in error. The system won't let me correct that problem. Also, TurboTax said I have to print and mail. When I printed my NYS return, my $1400 refund disappeared to even, the return had a lot of blank lines, and it tells me 8 can't mail it, I have to e-file. TurboTax won't let me e-file.

You can return to your taxes to make corrections, and can also switch from the mail option to the e-file option.

Here's how to get into your return.

Open your return if it's not already open.
On the Tax Home screen with the amount of your refund and status, scroll down and select Add a State (don't worry, we're not adding a state) to access your tax forms and worksheets.
In the left menu, select Tax Tools then Print Center.
On the TurboTax Print Center screen, select Print, save or preview this year's return.
On the next TurboTax Print Center screen, select 2020 federal returns and Include Government and TurboTax Worksheets (optional), then select View or Print Forms.
