got e-mail that I was cancelled. What does that mean?

An email from whom?  And what exactly did it say?

said I was cancelled [social security number removed]

canceled or rejected - completely different? a rejection e-mail means the IRS found a problem with the submission. the rejection notification would have a code that would indicate the problem.   don't have a clue as to what canceled might indicate without knowing who it's from and it is almost certainly not from the IRS.
