Goofed up 2022 return

Dumb question for y'all, so I just filed my taxes with TurboTax and I realized I goofed up, going through my bank statements I found I was paid the 3rd stimulus on 3/18. Am I able to send the money back once I get my refund or will they keep the money seeing that they already paid me back?

The IRS knows that they sent the 3rd stimulus payment to you.  The IRS will adjust your filed 2021 federal tax return accordingly.

Hi, I sent my return and believe I messed up a lot... I didn't add or apply the letter 6419.. Will I need to Amend it or will IRS fix on spot? I haven't missed something this big on taxes before.

Please and thank you

the IRS should catch it. what's unknown is what they'll do.  they may just reduce your refund accordingly or may send a notice. if yo get a notice read it carefully because it will tell you what to do.

The IRS is going to adjust it for you and you will receive a refund reduced by the amount that you already received.

Unfortunately, this is likely to delay processing of your return for a significant amount of time.  You should expect your refund to take up to six months to process.
