Filed with incorrect 1099 check box

I just filed my tax return and had checked Yes to "Did you make any payments in 2018 that would require you to file Form(s) 1099" because Turbotax told me any payments over $600 needed one and I had paid around $1000 to my neighbor to manage our rental property while we were away. In trying to figure out how to file a very late 1099-MISC, I found that apparently that requirement was repealed for rental properties, so my answer was incorrect. Do I need to amend my return to change the answer to No? Am I correct that I don't need a 1099?

I just did the IRS's Interactive Tax Assistant for "Should I file an amended return?" and it says No. So do I just wait for a penalty letter for not sending the form I incorrectly (I think) said I needed to send?
