Fee for re-efiling state return that was rejected

My state return was rejected because the federal return was rejected, due to pending updates to Form 8801 to be released later. I was instructed to wait till March 6th to make updates when the form is released then re-efile both federal and state returns. I paid $19.00 plus tax to e-file my state return originally. Will I need to pay another $19.00 plus tax on my 2nd submission of the state return later?

There should not be any additional fee to resubmit a rejected efiled state return.  A lot of people have state returns that reject for one reason or another.  If it tries to charge you a second time, please contact Customer Support by phone prior to paying.

BTW, the state efile will likely increase from 19.99 to 24.99 on Sunday, March 1, as will other TurboTax products when early-season discounts expire.   But you should not be charged to resubmit the rejected state return.

If you have a problem when you resubmit, here's how to reach Customer Support.  You can use the form at the link below to schedule a call back, or it may provide a number.

Where the form asks what product you are using, be sure in the dropdown menu to indicate "CD/download" and the proper operating system, then indicate which Edition.
