Federal Refund discrepancy

I e-filed my return back in April. My saved tax return document states that although my federal tax return shows a refund due to me, I chose to apply most of  it (about $3,500) to my 2021 estimated taxes, with a balance of $500.00 refundable to me.

However, when I opened my filed tax return today in Turbo Tax, it shows the Federal Refund of $2,000.

I expected to see $500.00 in there.

Why the discrepancy? I have not modified the return since I have filed it.

Thank you.

Did you have unemployment on the return  or  did you have to pay back any of the PTC form 8962?  Look at the return to see what changed.

your saved return document is your return as originally filed. Don't lose it. It is an important document.
