You can direct deposit your refund into multiple accounts in TurboTax. When you are entering your direct deposit information, scroll to the bottom of the screen and look for a checkbox that says "I would like to split my refund into more than one account." Choose this option then "I want to split my refund into more than one account" You will then be able to enter your information to deposit your refund into multiple accounts.
This option must not be available any longer. The only checkbox available on the direct deposit selection screen is now "This money will ultimately be routed to a bank outside the US (not common)". However, you can have your state refund deposited into a different account than your federal refund.
The same thing happened to me. I figured out a way to trick the system. Choose the second option that says savings bonds. Then put 50 for a savings bond. Then it will give you the option to split the refund. When i put in the amount, I used the two accounts and the amounts I wanted in each account. Then it told me that i was negative -50 and had to delete an account. I then deleted the 50 savings bond and it worked. its crazy, but its the only way to bypass it. This is the first year I ever saw that.
My refund was direct deposit into different accounts and I'm not aware of the second account
My refund was deposited into different accounts and I was not aware of the second account so where is my refund
Your direct deposit information would have to be input by you or imported from a previous tax return. You can look at your tax return to see what the second account number is, then reach out to your bank to see if it is an account from your bank.
