Cannot e-file 2019 ny state amended tax return even though it says that it is required

On the same not, there is only an option to file my amended federal tax return by mail even though I heard that IRS is accepting amended tax returns electronically for 2019. Should I just go for the mail option?

I received this error:

Your transmission didn't go through
We could not e-file your return for the following reason:
The IRS and state agencies are not currently accepting amended tax returns via e-file. - E-file will be available again in late January or early February for state amended returns. If you are amending your federal return, you'll need to go back into TurboTax, print your amended return and mail it to the address shown on the filing instructions. If you are amending your state return, you may either wait until e-file re-opens and e-file the return again, or print and mail it.

New York State requires most tax payers to file electronically if they are using tax software to prepare their return, and this includes amended returns. There is no additional fee for e-filing. The law also provides that once you’ve paid for tax preparation software, you can’t be charged an additional fee for e-filing.

I am trying to e-file my amended return. I already filed my original return for state and federal.

For 2019 tax year, e-filing is no longer available for Federal or State. You will need to print and mail in your NY amended state return. Please see this link for more information: Can I e-file 2019, 2018, or earlier tax returns?
