amend 2018 tax return

Is it ok to use Turbotax 2019 (or better  to use Turbotax 2018)  to amend 2018 return?  I have download software for both years.

You have to use the 2018 software to amend a 2018 tax return.

Thanks for your prompt reply. I read the TurboTax link before.  I will use the TurboTax 2018 to be safe.

Using the 2018 program is the only way to open or amend a xxx.tax2018 file.  You can't open it in the 2019 program or any other year.
