Im wondering if i will get a stimulus check if im 19? . I was 19 at the end of the 2019 year, i currently do live with my parents but have a full time job and am NOT enrolled in any schooling i was enrolled in my senior year of H.S from JAN-JUNE 2019 and made a tad over 11,000 . I also did file my 2019 Tax Return with direct deposit attached on April 8th, my only concern is that my parents have yet to file taxes because they may owe money so the government will use their 2018 taxes, which i am a dependent on. Since its 2019 will i still be seen as a dependant??
Pleasse need answers thank you so much
as your information, your parents cannot claim you as a dependent in 2019 as you are over 18, not a full-time college student and earned more than $4,200.
If you filed your 2019 tax return as a non-dependent, you will receive your stimulus payment of $1,200.
Wrong ... the OP was a student in HS until June ... no where does it say it must be college ... just full time student. So his parents had the right to claim him so he will not get a stimulus check.
You can claim a child, relative, friend, or fiancé (etc.) as a dependent on your 2019 taxes as long as they meet the following requirements:
Qualifying child
@MinhT1 Ummmm, but he was a full time student Jan-June. I don't think it just means college. I think he can be a dependent in 2019.
