Accepted return no longer showing on IRS' website

I have an unusual situation. A little background: I filed my 2020 tax return by paper. The IRS misplaced my return and requested I resubmit, which I did with backup documentation in October. I filed my 2021 return electronically and I received an "Accepted" notice. The Where's My Refund initially showed the return. However, after April 15th, the 2021 return does not show on either WMR or My IRS Account. My 2020 tax return was finally processed. My question: How do I determine the actual status of my 2021 return?

The WMR actually disappeared after April 18, 2022.

As you return travels through the IRS processing pipeline no information being shown on the where's my refund tool is normal. So all you can do is check that site once a week until you see further progress being shown. There's nothing you can do or anyone you can call to speed up the process, all you can do is wait.
