2023 refund

Why is the IRS NOT sending me anymore letters after the “60 day” wait period to review my 2023 refund? I got a letter in Sept 2024 asking me to send info to them. I did that. Then they said wait 60 days for review. It’s now the end of Jan 2025 and I have heard nothing regarding my refund or is status. The website still says “reviewing your info, give us 60 days” and it’s impossible to get a real person on the phone.

You will need to get a real IRS person on the phone to find out what is going on.  TurboTax knows nothing about this.  The best time to call is 7:00 AM in your time zone.

You will need to contact the IRS for information. It might be easiest to set up an account with them.

 

IRS Individual Online Account  

  • Taxpayers with a Social Security number or an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number can create or access their IRS Individual Online Account to get information they need to file their return.
  • With an IRS Individual Online Account, people can:
  • View balance owed, payment history and schedule payments.
  • Cancel scheduled payments.
  • Get transcripts.
  • View or create payment plans.
  • See digital copies of some IRS notices.
  • View key data from their most recently filed tax return, including adjusted gross income.
  • Validate bank accounts and save multiple accounts, eliminating the need to re-enter bank account information every time they make a payment.
  • View, approve and electronically sign power of attorney and tax information authorizations from their tax professional.
