2018 Amended return question--0 amount change even after adding a dependent

I have a question.

My girlfriend just found out that she can claim me as a dependent.  She went back in to her 2018 taxes via the Turbotax software download and added me as a dependent.

However, the amount never changed from 0.  Now, she already claims both of our children.  So does this mean: A. The maximum amount of refund from her taxes have already been taken from the two children and it doesn't matter that I am an added dependent because she is already maxed out, or B. Does this amount remain 0 because I am a non-relative (We had to put *Other* when talking about the dependent type) and the IRS needs to verify some things first before possibly giving us additional tax refund money?  Or C. None of the above?

Help?

Adding a dependent doesn't do what it used to do. There was a time that for each dependent, an exemption was included and subtracted from the Taxpayer's income.

This changed with the tax Cuts and Jobs Act. So, adding you probably made no difference. Dependents do not generate an exemption for tax years 2018 or 2019.
