2016 Tax return file

Hello, 

 

I am looking for a copy of my 2016 tax return file in order to fill out my FAFSA forms for college. It wants me to pay for TurboTax PLUS but I have no clue how to do that and I don't want to pay for a piece of paper. I just need the information in order to go to college so please help me out with this.

All you need is a tax transcript and not the actual return itself. You can get that for free directly from the IRS at http://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcripts. Also note that the FAFSA website has a tool that will allow you to directly import all the financial data straight from your IRS account. All you may need to do is create an account with the IRS, if you haven't done so already.
