How do I use the Topic List?

The Topic List is an outline of the TurboTax Step-by-Step interview and can be used to quickly navigate to a particular area in the program. Simply select the section you want to go to and we'll take you there.

  • Green checkmarks indicate you have already visited those sections. Of course, you may revisit them as many times as you want
  • Collapse all condenses the outline to the main topics that correspond to the tabs near the top of the interview. Select the arrow to the left of the topic to expand just that section
  • Expand all displays all the topics, subtopics, and section screens

Another way to get around in the program is to select Search in the menu to open the TurboTax Help pop-up, where you can enter your topic or keyword—for example, W-2 or child tax credit—and search for it. Then, select the resulting Jump-to link above the search results to go directly to that section in TurboTax.
