How do I access my tax documents from the IRS?

In your IRS Individual Online Account, you can view and download your 2024 and 2025 W-2 and Form 1095-A. Follow these steps from the IRS.

However, state and local tax information won't be in your IRS account and won't be on your forms, like your W-2 (Box 12 and 14). Additionally, your EIN on your W-2 will be abbreviated. You need all 9 digits to successfully file your return.

Excluding this information from your tax return may result in a rejected or incorrect tax return. You should continue to use the forms sent to you by your employer or the original reporter.

The best way to add your W-2 or other forms to your return in TurboTax is to import them when available. See our help article to learn how.
