How does the end of support for Mojave 10.14 affect my TurboTax experience?

SOLVEDby TurboTax4Updated May 12, 2022

Since Apple will no longer provide support for Mojave 10.14 as of November 2021, you’ll need a newer operating system to use our latest desktop products. For tax year 2021, TurboTax CD/Download requires Catalina 10.15 or higher to install.

You can continue using TurboTax CD/Download for previous years on Mojave 10.14 but you’ll need to update your Mac before installing any desktop products for tax year 2021. Older versions of TurboTax are also compatible with Catalina 10.15 and higher.

If you use TurboTax Online, there’s no impact to you as long as you meet the minimum system requirements.

Yes, you’ll still be able to import your prior-year return after upgrading your Mac.

For help updating to Catalina 10.15, Big Sur 11, or Monterey 12, visit Apple Support.

If you don’t want to update your operating system for tax year 2021, you can switch to TurboTax Online to file a return. Learn how to transfer your prior-year information from TurboTax CD/Download to TurboTax Online.

If you’d like to return your TurboTax desktop product, submit a refund request at refundrequest.intuit.com within 60 days of purchase. You’ll need your license code or order number and dated receipt.

Note: There’s no need to repurchase your TurboTax software after updating your Mac.
