Will TurboTax Full Service cover my tax situation?
by TurboTax•55• Updated 2 weeks ago
We do our best to make sure you start with the right product to cover your tax situation, but it’s possible that we’ll uncover something along the way that requires you to switch your version of TurboTax.
Most importantly, you can't use Full Service to file taxes for a prior tax year. Full service experts can only file your taxes for the current tax year, which is 2024. To file a 2023, 2022, or 2021 return, you'll need to purchase and download that year's TurboTax Desktop software for PC or Mac.
Our team of US-based tax experts and CPAs have extensive experience and internal training. They can handle all kinds of tax situations, from simple to complex. They’ll guarantee your taxes are done right, with every dollar you deserve. Our experts have an average of 12 years’ experience, and we’ll match you with the right one based on your unique situation.
Your situation can include any of the following, which are covered by TurboTax Full Service:
- Investments, such as stocks or crypto (Form 1099-B, CSV)
- Rental property (Forms 1099-K, 1099-MISC)
- Selling a home (Form 1099-S)
- Self-employment (Form 1099-NEC)
- Business partnership (Schedule K-1)
- Bank account interest (Form 1098-INT)
- Dividends (Form 1099-DIV)
- Electronic payments (Form 1099-K)
- Unemployment (Form 1099-G)
- Retirement (Form 1099-R)
- Social Security (Form SSA-1099)
Full Service isn't available for some customers in certain tax situations. But you can still get help preparing your return with TurboTax Live. Before you choose to use Full Service, check if your return includes these situations, which aren't supported:

- Taxpayer is a minor
- Taxpayer filed a nonresident return last year
- Taxpayer is a dual-status resident or part-year resident or must elect to be treated as a resident
- Return is filed by a Power of Attorney

- Returns for the current year, if the taxpayer didn't file a return for previous tax year
- Amended returns for the previous tax year
