Create an Intuit Account

by TurboTax Updated 2 weeks ago

Create an Intuit Account to manage your data, subscriptions, privacy, and other settings for all of your QuickBooks Online, TurboTax, Credit Karma, or professional tax products. All your info lives together in the Intuit Platform as part of your profile. Use this account any time you want to sign up for a new QuickBooks, TurboTax, or professional tax product.

You've signed up for an Intuit product in the past

When you first sign up for a product, like QuickBooks or TurboTax, you enter an email address. This email address becomes your Intuit Account user ID. Use it whenever you sign up for Intuit products so everything stays organized.

Follow these steps if you’ve signed up for an Intuit product in the past, but weren’t prompted to create an Intuit Account.

  1. Go to the Intuit accounts page.
  2. Select Create an account.
  3. Enter your email address and phone number.
  4. Create a password.
  5. When you're ready, select Create account.

We'll send you a link with instructions to verify your email address. Then you're all set.

Note: If you see a "This user ID is already taken" message, you may already have an account. Follow the “I forgot my user ID or password” steps in our account recovery article to get into your account.

FAQs

If you already have an Intuit Account, you can use that to sign in to TurboTax, QuickBooks, and professional tax products. Mailchimp and Credit Karma customers can continue to use their existing Mailchimp and Credit Karma logins to access those products. As outlined in our Privacy Statement, that data lives together in the Intuit Platform as part of the customer’s profile.

You can choose to create different Intuit Accounts, though we recommend you only use one account for TurboTax, QuickBooks, and professional tax products. This gives you the benefit of being able to better connect your data across Intuit products and see a more complete view of your finances.

If you choose to create more than one Intuit Account, your account info will automatically update only for Intuit products you sign in to with that account.

Here are a few simple things you can do to keep your account info more secure.

  • Choose a strong password and user ID that only you would know, and don’t share it with anyone.
  • Add your phone number and email to your Intuit Account. This lets us send you a one-time passcode when we need to verify your identity. This is extra helpful if you forget your password or user ID.
  • Add a passkey to your Intuit Account. Passkeys let you sign in across multiple devices using your face, fingerprint, or screen lock. These encrypted digital keys are phishing-resistant and more secure than passwords or one-time passcodes. You can add a passkey in the Sign in and security section of your Intuit Account.
  • Turn on two-step verification—an additional layer of security that automatically double-checks your identity each time you sign in. Read about two-step verification
