How to access and manage your personal data from your Intuit Account

You can improve the readability of your data by wrapping its text. This is a feature that automatically moves a word that is too long to fit on a line to the beginning of the next line. To take advantage of this feature, here’s what to do:

Windows

1. Open the Notepad app.
2. Go to Format and select Word Wrap.
3. The text will now wrap within the Notepad window.

Mac

1. Open the TextEdit program.
2. Go to Format and select either:
   1. Wrap to Window - wraps text within the TextEdit window.
   2. Wrap to Page - wraps text within the page margins.
3. The text will now conform according to the selected format.

If you downloaded or were sent a file in a .json format, you will need to use the correct application to review its contents. Here’s what to do:

1. Right-click the .json file and select Open with.
   1. Windows: Select Notepad from the list of apps.
   2. Mac: Select TextEdit from the list of apps.
2. The file should now open in the selected app.

You can easily use Google Docs to open and view or edit an .xlsx file. Here’s what to do:

1. Go to Google Drive.
2. If you already have a Gmail account, skip to step 5. If not, go to step 3.
3. Create a Gmail account using one of these options:
   • If you don’t have either a Google Account or a Gmail account, sign up at Google (Be sure to create a Gmail address; don’t select the Use my current email address option).
   • If you have a Google account but not a Gmail account:
     1. Go to mail.google.com.
     2. Sign in using your Google account credentials.
     3. Follow the onscreen info to add Gmail to your account (Note: When you add Gmail, your Gmail address will become the primary username on your account. It will be what others see when you share information, such as documents or photos, from your Google Account).
4. Go to Google Drive.
5. Locate your .xlsx file and drag it onto the Google Drive page (this is actually your personal Google Drive page—note the My Drive at the top).
6. Once the file has uploaded, double-click on it and select Open with Google Sheets.
7. You can now view or edit the file.

If you downloaded or were sent a zipped file (a file is typically zipped, or compressed, to decrease its size and make it easier to transfer), unzipping the file is typically quick and easy. Here’s what to do:

• If the zipped file is located in a folder on your computer
  Double-click the zipped item (it typically appears as a folder with a zipper in the middle). This will open the zip folder and you’ll see the unzipped file(s), which you can then open.
• If the zipped file is attached to an email
  Depending on your email provider, you should be able to double-click the attachment and then Save or Open (directly unzip) the file; or there may be a dropdown option to the attachment, and the dropdown menu should include the option to Open (unzip) the file.

1. Sign in to TurboTax, if you haven’t already.
2. Select Intuit Account on the left.
3. Select Data privacy.
4. Select Delete and then follow the screens to delete your data. If you want to delete data from any other Intuit Accounts, you'll be able to do that one account at a time. We'll walk you through it.
