I'm a bit confused about this. When you make estimated payments you are supposed to include a 1040-ES form. Those forms are different each year showing the tax year in big bold letters at the top. If you included a 2022 1040-ES it should automatically be recorded for that tax year. My confusion comes from the fact that the 2023 1040-ES does not include a voucher due in January 2023. The first quarterly voucher is not due until April. So I guess you need to verify what 1040-ES voucher you sent with this payment.
