If you are using TurboTax Desktop, make sure to check for updates. The issue could be your version is not up-to-date with the current forms. If you're on a PC, open TurboTax and select Check for Updates from the Online menu near the top. On a Mac, simply quit and reopen TurboTax. If there are any updates, you'll be prompted to download them.
To delete a state return in TurboTax Desktop, you can follow these steps:
- With your return open in TurboTax, switch to Forms Mode by selecting the Forms icon at the top-right corner of the screen
- From the File menu, choose Remove State Return. (This won't delete your state program, just the state tax return)
- Select the return you want to delete and select Remove. Choose Yes to confirm
If you want to start a new state return, select the Step-by-Step icon and then select the State Taxes tab.
