I filed my taxes on 2/8/22, and I mailed my return at the end of February. The IRS website is saying they don't have any information on my return. I don't know what to do because I can't get ahold of anyone.

What does that mean?   Are you saying you filed your return twice--once by efile in early February and once on paper by mail in late February?

If so, was the efile accepted?   An efiled return should show up in the IRS "Where's My Refund" tool, about 24 hours after an efiled return is accepted.  A paper return can take 4 weeks or more just to show up in the WMR tool.    Filing both (if that's what you did) may create problems/delays.

If you efiled originally, what is the status of the efile after you submitted it?  Was it successful and accepted?  Or was it rejected?

If you used Online TurboTax, you can check at the Tax Home of your Online account.  What does it show for the return--accepted, rejected, printed, started, ready to mail, or what?

Here are some tips when using the IRS "Where's My Refund" tool:

https://www.irs.gov/Refunds

  • If you efiled a return, be sure you have waited at least 24 hours after acceptance before using the IRS WMR tool.   For a paper return wait at least 4 weeks after mailing to use the WMR tool.
  • Be sure you enter the correct SSN and filing status.
  • Be sure you are using only the Federal refund amount.   Do not include any state refund or any total refund or net refund (Fed and State) that TurboTax may have provided on a screen which adds/nets both refunds together.
  • Also be sure you are using the Federal amount before any TurboTax fees are taken out (if you chose that option.)
  • Look at your actual Federal return to get the Federal refund amount, i.e., your Form 1040, Line 35a.
  • You can also try phoning the IRS refund hotline.  I've seen it work for some users when the WMR tool didn't.  800-829-1954

We can tell you how to hopefully reach a live agent at the IRS if it becomes necessary.
