Self employed

To qualify as a hobby, you would have to do this with no intention of making a profit. In this case you would not have to pay self employment income but you could not claim any expenses. 

 

If you intend to make a profit then you would report this as self-employment income.  you can claim any expenses that were related to this income. These expenses lower your business income and therefore lower your tax.
