If you are filing Married Filing Jointly, enter it under

Wages & Income

1099-MISC and Other Common Income

Income from Form 1099-MISC

Enter "Rebate" as the description

Select "Not like my work"

Select only received in 2023

Select "No intent to make money"

The income should go to your 1040 schedule 1 NOT schedule C

Be sure to report that as a subtraction on your Minnesota return

If you are filing separately, one of you can file the 1099-MISC

or you could split it although it would be difficult with only one 1099-MISC.  Technically a second 1099-MISC would be helpful in that situation, however each of you could report 50% and explain if the IRS were to question it.
