As long as you transmitted, or attempted to transmit the W-2 before the deadline, it will be considered as filed on time.  Moreover, the IRS does not take action against small businesses that submit a W-2 filing late.  If the W-2 recipient is anxious for the form, you could go ahead and send them a copy.  If the W-2 is still "processing", you may want to cancel and resubmit.
