If the birthdate on my NYs drivers license is different (by 1 year) than my SS birthdate but i enter the right SS birthdate will my taxes be rejected?
So up until a few years ago I just put in the birthdate that SS had for me and my taxes went smoothly. Will the fact that they (NYS) now require a license (DMV) number with returns cause a rejection because of the discrepancy in birth dates. I am handicapped so would prefer not to deal with any agencies. So: do they analyze the two birthdates (license vs SS/birth certificate) for inconsistencies in dates or is the license DMV number only used to ascertain name and address (as opposed to birth date). Thanks in advance if anyone's generous enough to help. Dennis (NYC)
