I spoke to an IRS representative again and was basically told the same thing I was told before. The option for the credit will be on this upcoming year’s tax return where you can claim it there if you think you were eligible and didn’t receive it.
Again, as far as the glitch issue, I was told to file an amended return to correct the error so that my eligibility status would be fixed before I file my next set of taxes and if I didn’t, my eligibility would not likely change even when I tried to claim it on my 2019 taxes.
I have already filed my amended return as they previously instructed but it’s never been processed. If you have an amended return still out there pending processing, she said they can’t adjust or note anything to your return until that process is complete. She also knew nothing about having an account marked for any turbo tax glitch.
Bottom line, I got nowhere again and if having the IRS Mark your account for review of the economic payment is somehow an option, I can’t do that because I now have an outstanding amended return that has to be processed. It’s very frustrating.
