Stimulus Check

I claimed my daughter as a dependent in 2018 because she was a full-time college student. She graduated in 2019 so I did NOT claim her as a dependent on my 2019 taxes. She had a job in 2019,but has not yet filed her 2019 tax return due to an issue with her W-2. Will she still get a stimulus check once she files her 2019 return?

She can check the status of the stimulus payment here https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/get-my-payment
You may need to help her fill out some of that information in the portal.

I would recommend contacting the IRS if you feel the amount received is incorrect.  Please be aware that wait times may be higher than usual when trying to reach out to them.

This did not answer my question.

Essentially my question is this: since my daughter will not receive a stimulus check due to her being claimed as a dependent on my 2019 taxes when she was a college student, will she receive a tax credit of $1200 when she files her 2020 taxes because for ALL of 2020 she was employed, living on her own, and under the salary limits?

It is my understanding that your daughter will receive a credit for the stimulus on her 2020 tax return when she files.

Can you tell me where you got this information that you can receive a credit on your 2020 tax return? I have tried looking this up and cannot find anything on this subject.
