Another Stimuls Check Question - Tax was paid from parent's checking account.
Adult taxpayer (NOT claimed as anyone else's dependent) with no checking account. They owed tax on 2018 return, so their parents wrote a check to the IRS for the tax , sent in with the return (paid them back). So presumably, the IRS has a checking account number associated with that tax-payer's return, but it is NOT that taxpayer's bank account. Tax-payer qualifies for the full stimulus check amount, but will that get deposited into the parent's checking account since that's the account associated with the return? (OR - since the tax-payer's name is not on the check, perhaps IRS will figure out that it's not the right person??)
