@kwilkk , assuming that your home state is AL and because AL does not have a reciprocity agreement with CA etc., your AL incomer must world income i.e. including those income allocated to other states. -- should be the same as your federal W-2 Box 1. But you have to prepare the non-resident state income, return first -- this way you know what the tax liability for that state. You AL ( home state ) is the last one you do and TubroTax should guide you how to claim tax credit for taxes paid to the other state(s). This obviously generic answer.
