Tax help for military filers
When you file your amended return, don't forget to enter in the personal info section of TurboTax that your husband was military, and don't forget to indicate that his W2 was a military W2.
Also, the Veterans Benefits and Transition Act of 2018 ("VBTA") was in effect for the 2019 tax year. It allows the non-military spouse of an active duty servicemember to claim the servicemember's military SLR (State of Legal Residence) as his or her State of Residence too, for state tax purposes.
**Answers are correct to the best of my ability but do not constitute tax or legal advice.
