Tax help for military filers

You may simply have not selected your military status as active duty wages.

To code your military W-2 as active duty income (double check the EIN on the W-2 entry as well):

  1. Once in your return, click on Personal Info and make sure you selected 'I am a member or former member of the U.S. Armed Forces (active, reserve or National Guard)'.
  2. On the next screen select 'Active duty military' (or appropriate category-see below)
  3. Continue to answer questions about your military service

If that doesn't work, the next step is to delete your W-2 and re-enter:

  1. Click Federal Taxes tab then Wages & Income tab
  2. Click Add/Edit next to military W-2
  3. Click trash can icon next to W-2

Please update here if you need further assistance and one of your tax experts will help you.
