Tax help for military filers
To find your 2019 earned income go to IRS.gov/transcript. If you do not already have an account, you may have to create an account. Once you create the account you will be able to sign in and request a transcript.
To request the transcript after you create an account:
- Sign into IRS.com/transcript
- Select the transcript you want. You are going to want your Wage and Earnings Transcript.
- Select the Tax Year
- Anwer the rest of the questions
- When done you will be able to get a download on your transcript.
The Wage and Earnings Transcript will provide you all sources of income that were reported to the IRS. (W2s, 1099-R, 1099-INT, 1099-DIV, etc.)
To verify Form 8812 and EIC, you could also request an Account Transcript and a Return Transcript. It is done the same as the Wage and Earnings. One of these transcripts should show if you had EIC or a Form 8812.
If you had an account that prepared your return for 2019, I would suggest you contact the accountant that prepared your return and ask them for a copy of your return and specifically Form 8812 and the EITC.
