- Log into Turbo Tax Online.
- Go to Personal Info
- In the section where your name, DOB, social security, etc. Be sure to check the box Yes where it asks I am a member or former member of the U.S. Armed Forces (active, reserve or National Guard).
- Taxpayer, what was your military status as of December 31, 2021? Mention you are active. You are not both. Either you are active on Dec 31 or you were in the reserves.
- When you indicate you are active, there will be a drop down with three choices. Leave those choices blank because none will pertain to you.
- Finish the rest of the section and it the end of the section, it will show that you received the military discount.
- Thank you for your services.
