Retirement tax questions
For what kind of account? 401(k), IRA, other?
The actual amount of RMD only matters if the excess that was more than the RMD was rolled in to another retirement account. Since no part of a RMD is eligible for rollover, the amount of RMD must be entered. In all other cases if more then the RMD was distributed just saying it was all a RMD will make no difference since nothing about the question goes on a tax return at all.
